The European Social Fund (ESF), through the Greater Manchester Combined Authority's three-year Skills for Growth programme, has provided funding to boost productivity in the Manufacturing sector. Specific areas of skills development have been identified as a way for employers in the industry to improve productivity and grow.
We offer a range of workforce development programmes designed to support the identified skills needs within the Greater Manchester manufacturing sector.
Our Approach
We have surveyed local employers to understand better the skills gaps of manufacturing businesses in the Greater Manchester region. Our programme's curriculum was created using what we learned combined with thirty years of Leadership and Mangement Development experience. So whether you're a small or large company looking for growth, our experts can help your team develop the skills they need to be competitive.

Lean Manufacturing Foundations
Our foundation programme is designed to support employers to reinforce a culture of continuous improvement. Through participation in this course individuals will be empowered to focus on the reduction of waste, implementing cost saving practices and improving productivity.
Who is it for?
The course is aimed at upskilling core frontline staff who work within the manufacturing and production industries.
Journey | Modules
Upon successful completion of all 4 modules, individuals receive a certificate from Instep UK.
Delivery method
The course consists of 4 tutor-led modules which can be delivered over 2 full days or over 4 ½ day sessions.
Funding
Full funding is available for those who are 16+, work or reside in the Greater Manchester region and who work for Manufacturing business.
Implementing Lean Processes
Our Implementing Lean Processes programme is focussed on developing and refining the knowledge and skills that employees have around implementing processes to drive forward lean application.
